Went for Rick Springfield, Stayed for Pat Benatar

William Beckett came out with an extremely depressing set. I am a huge fan of Rick Springfield, which is why I bought the tickets. When Rick came out, he sounded good, not great. On his newer stuff, it was like listening to someone else - his voice was strong and clear. I had never heard of him, but his show was probably the most depressing thing I'd ever listened to, and I didn't listen to him much. On top of that, he chose to do two cover songs - Katie Perry's "Fireworks" and "Wild Thing" by whoever. Not only that, but most of his set was a medley. It seemed to us that he clearly was not into playing his older songs; on those, his voice was very weak. I was prepared to leave after that, but we decided to stay and hear a little of Lionel Richie and Neil, and boy am I glad we did. They were phenomenal! Great show. His guitar playing is incredible, and they put on a great show. Her voice is amazing.
